Day One

Lucknow-Kanpur-Jhansi-Sagar-Seoni-Nagpur

Highways: NH25, NH26

Background:

We had to go back to Bangalore and since the car was in Lucknow it was necessary to take it back too. So since there was no option J we decided to travel back to Bangalore in our favorite Ritz, which is nicknamed as JUMBO.

The original plan was to start our journey on April 9th itself but because of our visit to Haldwani consumed an extra day and we had to travel two complete days, we decided to take rest for one day and start on April 10th, 2011.

Our Jumbo was running perfectly fine but I had a doubt on my spare wheel so when I was filling Diesel at a bunk near the Purnia Chauhara I checked the pressure for the spare wheel. The person told me it’s very less pressure in the tyre. I was shocked so I immediately checked the tyre for puncture. To my surprise there was a three inch long nail fully penetrated in it. Thank God and to Thanks to the practice of checking my vehicle before going on a long trip, I got my puncture repaired for Rs 50. It was hardly 10 mins job, I feel repairing a tubeless tyre puncture is much easier though hard to push the adhesive in.

The diesel rate in Lucknow is Rs 39+ and it was so good to see that rate as I was paying 4 Rs more in Bangalore.

Then we moved to a Hypermarket at Purnia itself to get some juices, chips and fruits. This is one of my favorite jobs when we go on a long drive. I love munching while driving as I don’t want to stop for longer time in search of food.

So everything was ready, Man, Woman and the Machine…

And here comes April 10, 2011
