BatteryLife

You buy smart phone and your feel, O Man!! I have got  so many functionalities in my phone. You start using them and then you find the phone is out of juice just in the middle of the day. You think I didn't make any long call, I didn't keep the phone on i spent 20k+ Rs and it didn't even last equal to old 2000 Rs Nokia phones.. And there starts the search how to save battery, you can find many battery saver apps in Play Store but most of them restrict the functionality of the phone and that's how they increase the battery life. Here are few ways by which you can increase the life of battery without installing any application.

A.    Restrict the functionalities of the phone:

I know you are going to hate this option because what is the fun in having all these functions if you can't keep them active but to increase the battery life you have no other choice, unfortunately;

1)      Turn off Bluetooth when not needed

2)      Turn off WiFi when not needed

3)      Turn off GPS when not needed

4)      Turn off the vibration function for calls and sms

5)      Turn off WiFi hotspot when not in use

6)      Turn off Sync if data using mobile network

 B.    Restriction on Display

You can chose below options to restrict the display so that your display does not consume extra battery;

1)      Reduce the brightness of the phone display

2)      Don't use Auto Brightness function - -- I see lot of contradicting views on this but i feel auto brightness eats more battery.

3)      Don't use live wallpapers

 C.     Know Your Network

I found that bad network is one of biggest contributor to quick battery drain. If you use your phone in a location where network signals are weak then your battery will drain real quick, so you can chose below options;

1)      Switch off your data connection. In weak network situations mobile battery drains very quickly.

2)      Try ensuring your mobile does switch between 2G, 3G, H+ and G network very frequently.

 D.    Manage your Applications and Widgets:

Android provides so many options for the applications and widgets and there lies the problem. You download more applications and widgets which consume more battery and data both. Lot of applications run in background and consume battery. Widgets also continuously refresh and that results in faster battery drain.

1)      Weather widgets, news widgets and other widgets which use data exchange reduce the battery life so such widgets should not be enabled on the home screen

2)      Keep your applications updated

3)      Restrict the applications which are not required to run in background
