MIcromax Q5fb

Review of Micromax Q5fb

Recently we were in search of a mobile for Sonam as her old phone was not working properly nowadays. This was the same time when we bought her a Sony Ericson three years back from Sangeetha’s One Rupee margin sale. Sangeetha claims they offer mobiles on just 1 rupee margin. The claim seems correct to me when I compare the rates with Univercell and Mobile Store websites.

So this time again we decided to buy it from Sangeetha. Now once the shop was fixed we were thinking to buy an Indian mobile, as they are offering feature rich mobiles in a very low price range. Our price range also was 2500-3500 Rs.

When we walked in to Sangeetha Jaynagar we had almost decided to buy a Micromax but still we were open to buy any other mobile also.

We quickly browsed through the available options there in the QWERTY key phones. The idea was to buy a nice girlish phone so I was little doubtful about a bulky phone which generally QWTRY phones are. With the ever expanding mobile bazar normal phones with basic phonebook and fm has dropped to a level of 700 Rs so we thought that a normal keypad phone will not be able to distinguish in current times. Few touch phones in our range from Fly and Micromax also attracted us but a cheap touch screen phone is a big pain. Navigation and tapping on screen for typing a sms becomes a day to day issue so touch screen was almost out of our choices.

Finally we were confused between Q7, Q5fb and Q3. Q7 was on a higher side of the range but it included wifi in its features and looks sleeker also. I liked it but since we had decided to buy in our range we finally decided to buy Q5fb because of its FACEBOOK shortcut key. Facebook is definitely in fashion, phones are selling because of a shortcut key talks about its brand.

The phone costs Rs 2720.00 and they offered discount on a 4 GB memory card with the phone. We also bought one blue tooth headphone.

Review of the phone:

I disliked: bulky and heavy

I liked: Phone has nice QWTERY keypad and Facebook and msn shortcuts

Phone reception is excellent and voice quality during call is superb. I found it better than my Samsung phone when I put the call on speaker. The camera is although 2 MP but it is not great, I would call it an average camera but that is when I see the clicked pictures on mobile screen may be they will good if we transfer on PC.

Music player is little cumbersome I was not able to build a playlist using the files on my data card and also could not play it through the music player.FM quality is good it can store the channels easily.

It is my first dual sim phone and found it really irritating to select a sim while calling or messaging but that is how it works I guess. One more issue which I see with this phone is when are on call using any sim if someone calls on your second phone, it will come unreachable. The phone does not show it in waiting. May be I am not able to configure it correctly.

I guess in java applications, snaptu, rocket talk, nimbuzz, opera, facebook shortcut, are few standard application coming in modern phones. I had to download it in all my previous phones L

It contains only one blue theme but few good types of wallpaper. The entire theme is good for a phone of this range.

In a rating of 10 I would rate this phone for 7. Majorly this score is because of reception, keypad, dual sim and price.

Details of all the features is here

I hope Sonam likes it.
